At Agrishow 2024, the Mahindra stand became a focal point for knowledge on agricultural mechanisation as ‘Manual de Máquinas Agrícolas’ was launched, which is designed to be a comprehensive technical resource for the industry.
The launch of this 650-page volume, the first-of-its-kind in two decades, was spearheaded by esteemed university professors Mr. Tiago Rodrigo Francetto (UFSM), Mr. Rouverson Pereira da Silva (UNESP) and Mr. Lucas Augusto da Silva Gírio (UFRGS). Published by Editora FUNEP, the book is a product of extensive collaboration involving 22 lecturers from 14 universities worldwide and 14 agricultural machinery companies in Brazil. Among the contributors, Mahindra made a substantial impact through the efforts of Mr. Gilberto Dutra (Product Marketing Specialist) and Mr. Josué Beutler (After-sales Specialist), who provided invaluable material and insights.
The first volume encompasses 10 detailed chapters, covering various aspects of agricultural machinery, from engines and tractors to planting and crop protection equipment. Looking ahead, Volume II is anticipated to be released in early 2025, focusing on ‘machinery for mechanised harvesting’. In the near future, the books will expand its reach through digital formats, including audio, video and hyperlinks, and will also be translated into Spanish and English to benefit universities and companies in Latin America and the United States.
This launch represents a significant advancement in agricultural literature, promising to enhance knowledge and practices in the field, and reaffirming the commitment of Mahindra and its partners to advancing agricultural mechanisation.
